Alison Krauss & Robert Plant Robert Plant and Alison Krauss combined their distinctive and celebrated voices on 2007’s Raising Sand, produced by T-Bone Burnett and released on Rounder Records. The unique selection of songs showcases the otherworldly combination of Plant and Krauss’ vocals supported by a superb band. The Grammy-nominated Raising Sand debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, and the duo will be on tour in the UK in May.

Dwight Yoakam Grammy-winning artist Dwight Yoakam, also a noted actor, recorded his latest album as a tribute to his friend, the late Buck Owens. Dwight Sings Buck features fifteen of Owens’ greatest songs, lovingly reimagined by Yoakam. Yoakam has sold more than 23 million albums worldwide and will appear at the Stagecoach festival in May.

John Fogerty After a 30-year battle with his former label over his catalog, the former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman John Fogerty released the critically acclaimed Revival in October. Revival, his first album of new material in years, earned the Songwriters Hall of Fame member yet another Grammy nomination.

Steve Earle Steve Earle’s latest, Washington Square Serenade, is an ode to the ‘60s-era Greenwich Village, a neighborhood that Earle now calls home. Earle recorded the Folk/Americana Grammy-nominated Serenade at Jimi Hendrix’s Electric Lady Studios, and while the album contains Earle’s trademark unapologetically political songs, this is a much more personal album, including a duet with wife Allison Moorer. Earle is currently on tour throughout the UK and Europe, and will hit North America in early spring.

2008 Americana Music Festival Artists Announced

Nashville, August 1 – The Americana Music Association announced an initial lineup of artists confirmed to play the 2008 Americana Music Festival, with additional artists still pending. Five downtown Nashville venues, including The Mercy Lounge, The Cannery Ballroom, 3^rd & Lindsley, The Station Inn and The Basement, will host the showcases from Wed. Sept. 17^th through Sat. Sept. 20^th.
