Recording Academy Adds GRAMMY Performance Category for Americana Music Artists

// 6.9.22

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 9, 2022) — The Americana Music Association applauds the Recording Academy for adding a new category — Best Americana Performance, a track and single Category that recognizes artistic excellence in an Americana performance by a solo artist, collaborating artists, established duo, or established group — to the Americana Music field for the 2023 GRAMMYs (officially known as the 65th GRAMMY Awards).

"We are thrilled the Recording Academy has created the Best Americana Performance category to be included in the 65th Grammy Awards," says Jed Hilly, Executive Director of the Americana Music Association. "This recognition is an important milestone for the ever rising Americana community and the artists we love."

This new category complements already established Best Americana Album and Best American Roots Song, where artists may submit their Americana work for recognition.
