2021 Health & Safety Policy

AMERICANAFEST COVID-19 ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

An inherent risk of COVID-19 exists in any place where people gather. By attending AMERICANAFEST, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

AMERICANAFEST COVID-19 Safety Protocol

All attendees MUST present a valid proof of full vaccination OR a negative COVID test (within the previous 72 hours), along with a valid government-issued photo ID, to be admitted into AMERICANAFEST events.

ATTENDEE MAY NOT CHECK IN ON BEHALF OF OR PRESENT PROOF OF VACCINATION/TEST RESULT FOR ANY OTHER ATTENDEE(S).  All pass holding patrons refusing to abide by the AMERICANAFEST COVID-19 Safety Policy will be denied entry to any event, and we reserve the right to refuse a refund.

What Counts as Valid Proof for Check-In?

Full vaccination

- We will accept a picture or scan on your cell phone, or original document of your CDC-issued vaccination card.

- If you need a replacement vaccine card, you can contact your vaccine provider or local health department.

- To be fully vaccinated, you must have received your second shot of either Moderna or Pfizer before Sept. 9 or your first shot of Johnson & Johnson before Sept. 9.

- If you are vaccinated but have lost your card and cannot show proof of vaccination, you will need to provide a negative COVID-19 test, along with a photo ID.

Negative Test Result

- We will accept a printed, or digital copy of a negative COVID-19 test result administered by or under the supervision of a healthcare professional within 72 hours of the date of the show you are attending.

 -  Types of tests accepted: Negative diagnostic test result for COVID-19 using a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or DOH authorized polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or other nucleic acid amplification test (NAATs) of comparable analytical sensitivity performance that was performed on a specimen (e.g., swab) collected within 72 hours of the day attending.  OR You may present a negative test result for COVID-19 from an FDA-authorized antigen test received within 72 hours of arrival at the venue.

AT-HOME TESTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.

All AMERICANAFEST events will require proof of vaccination or a negative test result, excluding the following venues:

1. The Bowery Vault
2. Musician’s Corner at Centennial Park
3. The Groove
4. The Bobby Hotel
5. Tin Roof Broadway

These events may have requirements including wearing a mask and social distancing. Please check the event in the mobile app for details.

Health Check Wristband

Attendees can be admitted without showing proof of vaccination or negative test result if (and only if) they are wearing an Official AMERICANAFEST Health Check wristband.

- Health Check wristbands will be issued to fully vaccinated Americanafest passholders as a convenience to skip the verification processes at events for the duration of the event.

- Attendees MUST be wearing their safety check wristband, and the wristband must be undamaged and not tampered with.

- Health Check wristband is valid ALL week, and will only be issued at our authorized check-in locations listed below.

- Attendees are advised to keep proof of vaccination with them at all times as venues may at their discretion need to re-verify your status in the case of a damaged wristband or other safety concern.

Conference Panels at the Westin Hotel

Panel attendees will be required to go through a health screening process at the Health Check-In Desk at the Westin Hotel each day.

Mask Policy

Westin Hotel and Country Music Hall of Fame

Masks will be REQUIRED inside all panel rooms at the Westin Hotel, and they are strongly encouraged to be worn throughout the Westin and other indoor venues per CDC guidelines. Public areas of the Westin will be subject to the Westin’s health safety policy as described here: https://whattoexpect.marriott.com/bnawi.

Ryman Auditorium

Masks are strongly encouraged for all in attendance for the Americana Honors & Awards. More on the Ryman’s health safety policy here: https://ryman.com/safety-landing-page/.

AMERICANAFEST Venues

Masks are strongly encouraged at all AMERICANAFEST events. Masking protocols will be at the discretion of each venue, with the possibility of a requirement at some while not at others.

The CDC recommends that masks are worn in public indoor spaces in areas with high transmission rates regardless of vaccination status. The CDC also recommends that unvaccinated people wear masks at all times. Staff is required to wear masks, and we highly encourage mask-wearing for all patrons, and we will have free masks available at points of entry at the Westin and Ryman.  Showcase venues may or may not have masks available per their individual safety procedures.

If your answer is “YES” to any of these questions, DO NOT attend AMERICANAFEST.

Symptoms of COVID-19 or Positive Test Result

Should an attendee test positive for COVID-19, begin to feel ill, or exhibit any symptoms as described above under “Self Screening”:

1. DO NOT attend any further AMERICANAFEST event.

2. Have yourself tested for COVID-19 (for those who haven’t tested positive but are feeling ill or exhibiting symptoms).

3. We strongly encourage you to follow CDC guidelines for “What to Do If You Are Sick,” particularly staying at home (except to seek medical care), separating yourself from others, and notifying your close contacts that they may have been exposed.
