August 30, 2012, Nashville, TN: In addition to showcasing iconic and innovative music, the Americana Music Festival & Conference, presented by Nissan (Sept. 12-15) provides a forum to advocate for the creative and economic vitality of the Americana music genre. In partnership with leading edge technology company, Topspin, the Americana Music Association will present a series of panels curated by Wayne Leeloy, Senior Director of Artist Services, and a Business Keynote and Master Class from Topspin CEO Ian Rogers.

The discussion will kick off Wednesday September 12 with “Get Social,” with moderator Dave Delaney, a recognized leader of digital marketing and panelists from Girilla Marketing, Bandpage and more. This panel will consider the importance of a well-conceived social strategy and outline some of the key tactics for maximizing those channels. Best and worst practices will be identified and case studies will prove the viability of leveraging social to raise awareness, build a fan base and drive revenue.
There are three panels on Thursday including “Music Discovery: The Best Apps, Platforms and Sites and How to Use Them to Reach More Fans and Make More Money." In this panel, the discussion is about why music discovery platforms are the new gatekeepers to finding and building an audience. Representatives from Soundcloud, Rhapsody, Youtube, No Depression, Brite Revolution and CMT will discuss their unique perspectives and best practices on how to maximize discovery channels.
On Friday September 14, Topspin’s CEO Ian Rogers will present the Business Keynote, sharing the secrets of building a thriving direct-to-fan (D2F) business from the ground up. Rogers give insight on the fundamentals of successful campaigns and an outline of how to implement a successful campaign of their own. In addition, he will discuss current trends in the digital marketplace and share his perspective on the future of digital fan marketing. Following the keynote, Rogers will present a “Master Class,” providing an actionable list of How-To’s and To-Do’s. There will also be an afternoon panel, “Turning Ideas into Action: Interactive Campaigns that Actually Mean Something.”
Music industry professionals and those interested in the business of great music can purchase Festival and Conference Registrations at the reduced rate of $350 for Americana Music Association members and $450 for non-members. Registrants receive entrance to all sanctioned daytime conference music, panels and parties, plus priority access to all evening showcase performances.
