2008 Americana Song of the Year recipient (“She Left Me For Jesus”) Hayes Carll delivers songs born of baptism-by-fire experience, world weary observations and sharp wit. While his songs draw a direct line from Texas songwriting heroes such as Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, Carll has managed to put a stamp on his music that is truly his own. Hayes is currently working on a new album to be released on Lost Highway Records this summer.
Elizabeth Cook, whom Nanci Griffith has called "this generation's Loretta Lynn," melds smart attitude with classic tradition, the credibility of a life lived with genuine hillbilly passion, and the integrity to write an acclaimed cache of uncommonly cool songs.
Elizabeth
is gearing up for the May release of Welder, her Don Was produced follow up to 2007’s acclaimed Balls.”
Grammy winning Jim Lauderdale is one the nations most respected artists and among Nashville’s "A" list of songwriters, with songs recorded by artists such as: George Strait, Patty Loveless, George Jones, and The Dixie Chicks, just to name a few. Whether he is playing in the band with Elvis Costello or Willie Nelson, or performing his own material, Jim’s approach is steeped in integrity and songwriting genius. Jim will be releasing his next cd this spring, Patchwork River, his latest co writing venture with the great Robert Hunter.
Led by the powerful vocals and blazing Hammond B-3 organ of their fearless frontwoman, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals “play blues-based rock with glorious passion... Potter's voice earns its inevitable comparisons with Bonnie Raitt and Lucinda Williams” (USA Today). A great live band, this Vermont-based crew made a name for themselves opening for the likes of Dave Matthews, The Black Crows, and Gov't Mule. Their new album, produced by Mark Batson, promises to take them to another level.
